My Teenager Answers Back All The Time!

Having a teenager that constantly answers back can be frustrating and challenging for any parent. However, it's important to understand that this behaviour is a normal part of their development.

Teenagers are going through a lot of changes physically, mentally, and emotionally, which can make them feel overwhelmed and stressed out. As a result, they may lash out and answer back as a way of expressing themselves, or because they don’t know how to handle a situation.

It's really important to remain calm and avoid reacting in anger or frustration. Instead, try to listen to what your teenager is saying and validate their feelings. This can help them feel heard and understood, which can reduce the likelihood of them answering back in the future.

It's also important to set clear boundaries and consequences for disrespectful behaviour. Let your teenager know that their behaviour is not acceptable, and that there will be consequences if it continues.

Finally, try to maintain a positive and supportive relationship with your teenager. It will help them feel more connected and valued, which in turn can reduce the likelihood of them answering back as a way of seeking attention or validation.

Remember, being a teenager is tough, but with patience, understanding, and love, you can help your teenager navigate this challenging time in their life.
